Gary Clark, Jr. - Bright Lights from The Bright Lights EP
This song is really good. I got the hook stuck in my head the other day and was trying to remember which Black Keys song it was from. It took me about half an hour to figure out that it was actually Gary Clark.
Grouplove - Tongue Tied from Never Trust A Happy Song
I heard this song in an Apple commercial and I loved it. I don’t know why, but it’s kind of embarrassing to me, as a music connoisseur, to discover bands from commercials. It cuts into my underground cred. Either way, this song is good and the rest of their stuff is pretty decent. When I get sick of listening to Christmas music, I fire up some Grouplove.
Arcade Fire - Rococo from The Suburbs
I was lukewarm on this album when it came out, but for some reason it’s resonating quite well with me right now.
Feist - Cicadas and Gulls from Metals
I’m a couple of days into Metals and I’m certainly liking it. It’s going to take a lot more listens, but I can usually trust my ears to Feist. This song stuck out a lot to me, as well as ‘How Come You Never Go There’ and ‘Comfort Me.’
Bombay Bicycle Club - How Could You Swallow So Much Sleep
This album is not like their albums of the past, but I haven’t yet figured out whether that is a good or bad thing. It lacks a lot of jam quality that was featured prominently on I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose, and replaces it with a lot more chill.
